I am a professional musician with 28 years of experience learning, teaching and performing classical, bluegrass, traditional, Celtic and improvisational styles on the violin and fiddle. While I love teaching virtual lessons and do so on a weekly basis to a variety of ages and skill levels, performing is really where my skillset shines. To that end, I host a bi-weekly Fiddler Friday event on my social media where I take requests, answer questions and showcase my original tunes and invite the occasional guest to join me! I am also setting up a Patreon to help grow my very first tunebook publishing and teaching album recording: Kat & the Fiddle to be released in Spring of 2021. I teach virtual lessons out of my home studio via Zoom, GoogleMeet, Skype and even Facetime! I also record and create collaboration videos with other musicians (socially distant from our own homes) and post those videos on YouTube, Instagram and Facebook. From a young age, Katrina (Kat) Glaze was drawn to music. Her talents began in toddlerhood; humming, strumming on a plastic toy guitar and singing songs. When her parents realized that she had musical ability at the young age of two, they determined to put her in music lessons. A week after she turned four years old, Kat began taking classical violin lessons near her home in Long Beach, California. She had a good ear for picking up melodies, sight-reading music, and a natural performing confidence that shown brightly from a young age. This also came with a tendency to not want to practice the music in front of her, but rather make up her own melodies. She began fiddling at the behest of her father who loved bluegrass music and at the age of 7 she won her first fiddle contest in Old Time Fiddling at the Orange County Fair…
