Directrices para Artistas de CAP 2026-27

The Community Artist Program (CAP) provides artist services to Dallas communities by individual artists and non-profit organizations to teach, perform, and exhibit at host facilities in neighborhoods around the City of Dallas. CAP cultivates collaborations between artists and communities. 

This program helps promote cultural awareness, heightens citizen understanding of art forms, and celebrates the various traditions that contribute to the composition of this city.

FOR APPLICANTS: Want to learn more about CAP? Join us for optional group information sessions about the 2026-27 application. New applicant artists may earn application points for attending at least one, and returning artists are also welcome to attend (but do not receive application points.)

FOR HOSTS: Want to book an artist? Services are requested of CAP artists and organizations on an as-needed, when-needed basis.  This means that if you need an artist for an event, we may be able to help!  

We currently have 65 artists ready, willing, and able to provide cultural programming through workshops and performances throughout the city of Dallas. To access our artist roster, click here!

El Programa de Artistas Comunitarios (CAP) brinda servicios de artistas a las comunidades de Dallas por artistas individuales y organizaciones sin fines de lucro para enseñar, actuar y exhibir en instalaciones anfitrionas en vecindarios cercanos. la Ciudad de Dallas. CAP cultiva colaboraciones entre artistas y comunidades.

Este programa ayuda a promover la conciencia cultural, aumenta la comprensión ciudadana de las formas de arte y celebra las diversas tradiciones que contribuyen a la composición de esta ciudad.

Los servicios se solicitan a los artistas y organizaciones de CAP según sea necesario, cuando sea necesario. Esto significa que si necesita un artista para un evento, ¡Le podemos ayudar!

How To Become A CAP Artist / Cómo Convertirse En Una Artista de CAP

Artists apply annually in summer for inclusion in the CAP roster; a review panel recommends artists who are then approved for inclusion in the CAP roster by the Arts and Culture Commission.

There is no guaranteed funding for artists in the CAP roster; their contract funding will depend on the requests received for their services by the Host of the event. The Host requests artists from the roster/directory for community-based programs and performances. Their requests are reviewed and approved based on funding availability. 

• CAP artists cannot be requested for time periods under 50 minutes.
• Artists will not be provided for events outside the city limits of Dallas or for fundraising events.
• Artists will be provided (based on availability) for events that are free of charge and open/available to the public.
• Artists will not be available for paid or ticketed events.
• Any party/events not open to the public
• Active parade entries
• Activities which do not have a cultural or artistic focus

Los artistas solicitan anualmente en verano para ser incluidos en la lista de CAP; un panel de revisión recomienda artistas que luego son aprobados para su inclusión en la lista de CAP por la Comisión de Arte y Cultura.

No hay financiación garantizada para los artistas en la lista de CAP; la financiación de su contrato dependerá de las solicitudes que reciba de sus servicios el anfitrión del evento. El anfitrión solicita artistas de la lista / directorio para programas y actuaciones basados ​​en la comunidad. Sus solicitudes se revisan y aprueban según la disponibilidad de fondos.

• No se pueden solicitar artistas CAP por períodos de tiempo menosde 50 minutos.
• No se proporcionarán artistas para eventos fuera de los límites de la ciudad de Dallas o para eventos de recaudación de fondos.

Funding Review Panels

Most funding program applications are reviewed by a panel made up of qualified candidates from the professional arts and cultural field and approved by the Art and Culture Advisory Commission. Panel nominations are accepted throughout the year. Review Panel Nomination Form (.doc)

Paneles deRevisión de Financiación

La mayoría de las solicitudes de programas de financiamiento son revisadas por un panel compuesto por candidatos calificados del campo profesional de las artes y la cultura y aprobados por la Comisión Asesora de Arte y Cultura. Las nominaciones al panel se aceptan durante todo el año.
