Culture of Value 2024

ABOUT

Culture of Value is a micro-grant program created by the Office of Arts and Culture, Dallas Public Library, and Dallas Parks and Recreation. This program aims to support artists and arts and culture organizations whose primary programming and services center around an ALAANA experience. Selected artists and organizations will execute self-defined, one-time projects that provide a service to the residents of Dallas and further the “Culture of Value:” the idea that the arts are essential to a thriving, equitable society within the city of Dallas (Dallas Cultural Plan, Strategy 14: Support for Artists.) Each funded project will receive up to $3,000.

Culture of Value es un programa de micro-subvenciones creado por la Oficina de Arte y Cultura, Biblioteca pública de Dallas, y Parques y recreación de Dallas. Este programa tiene como objetivo apoyar a artistas y organizaciones de arte y cultura cuya programación y servicios principales se centran en una experiencia ALAANA. Los artistas y organizaciones seleccionados ejecutarán proyectos autodefinidos y únicos que brindan un servicio a los residentes de Dallas y promoverán la “Cultura del Valor”: la idea de que las artes son esenciales para una sociedad próspera y equitativa dentro de la ciudad de  Dallas (Plan Cultural de Dallas, Estrategia 14: Apoyo a los artistas). Cada proyecto financiado recibirá hasta $3,000.

CULTURE OF VALUE 2024
Beginning on June 17, 2024 you can apply to Culture of Value 2024 at the portal link below. If recommended for funding, you may also also use these web portals to submit a revised budget and final report.

A partir del 17 de junio de 2024, puede postularse a Cultura de Valor 2024 en el enlace del portal a continuación. Si se recomienda financiamiento, también puede usar estos portales web para enviar un presupuesto revisado y un informe final.

What’s New:

• This year, all artists will be matched with libraries and recreation centers. Applicants are not responsible for finding their own locations!
• All projects must take place between August 15 – September 12, 2024 during our Culture of Value month (on a date mutually agreed upon by the library and the artist).
• Projects may take place indoors or outdoors! (Last year, we were restricted to indoors only; this no longer applies). 

What’s the Same:

• Applicants may request up to 3k for their proposed project.
• All projects must be able to be completed in one day or as a one-time service. Exhibits lasting no longer than one week can be considered “one-time services”.
• All applicants must demonstrate a history of programming that centers an ALAANA experience or culture, and residency in Dallas.

Lo Nuevo: 

• Este año, todos los artistas serán asignados a bibliotecas y centros recreativos. ¡Los solicitantes no son responsables de encontrar sus propias ubicaciones! 
• Todos los proyectos deben llevarse a cabo entre el 15 de agosto y el 12 de septiembre de 2024, durante nuestro mes de Cultura de Valor (en una fecha acordada mutuamente por la biblioteca y el artista). 
• ¡Los proyectos pueden realizarse en interiores o exteriores! (El año pasado, estábamos restringidos solo a los interiores; esto ya no se aplica).

Lo que sigue igual:

• Los solicitantes pueden solicitar hasta 3,000 dólares para su proyecto propuesto. –
• Todos los proyectos deben poder completarse en un día o como un servicio único. Las exhibiciones que no duren más de una semana pueden considerarse “servicios únicos”.
• Todos los solicitantes deben demostrar un historial de programación que centre una experiencia o cultura ALAANA, y residencia en Dallas.
