Art Garcia is a Texas-born artist who lives and works in Dallas. With 30 years of experience Garcia has been honored in journals and annuals in the United States and Europe. He has produced work for The City of Dallas, Georgetown, Southlake, New Orleans, The Meadows School of Art, The University of Texas at Dallas, The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality and the US Census.
Most recently he completed Zarape, a minimal two-ton serial object in steel for Victory Forest Community Center in Fort Worth, Texas and Whirlwind, 29 aluminum rings suspended on a 20' tapered pole at RC Poe Roundabout in El Paso. Past installations included The Riverwalk in New Orleans and Topanga Plaza in Canoga Park, CA. Garcia’s emphasis is to create objects specific to the environment they exist. Currently his outdoor sculpture is exhibiting at Art on the Street 2019, Lafayette, Colorado.; Art on Henderson, Dallas, Texas; Spaces, University of Huntsville, Alabama; Sixth Biennial Richard and Pam Salmon Sculpture Competition, San Angelo, Texas.
Art Garcia earned his MA and MFA from the University of Dallas. He teaches at Dallas College, Mountain View Campus and Sculpture at Creative Art Center of Dallas.
