: Dancer/ Percussionist-Drummer/ Crochet-based clothing designer
I am a professional concert dancer and educator, with focus in Ballet, Modern and Jazz dance techniques. I am currently on faculty at Booker T. Washington HSPVA. For my Modern dance class, I play the Djembe drum for my own class. In addition to teaching dance, I also teach a crochet enrichment course at the high school.
I offer small group dance classes in: Ballet, Modern and Jazz techniques. I also offer an Intro to Crochet course.
Omar started his dance training at 14 at The black Academy of Arts and Letters at in Dallas, Tx. After graduating from Arts Magnet high school, he received his BFA from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in Modern Dance. Omar danced with Verb Ballets in Cleveland, OH where he toured both nationally and internationally. He then moved to NYC and found freelance work with friends from around the country. Omar is currently on faculty at his alma mater, Booker T. Washington HSPVA.
