City of Dallas, Office of Cultural Affairs launches new “OCA On The Go” events to meet artists in their communities
OCA On the Go, begun in April, aims to increase artist access to resources
As part of its work to increase support for artists in Dallas, the City of Dallas’s Office of Cultural Affairs (OCA) began “office hours” around Dallas starting in April 2019. While OCA staff are available to answer questions via phone, email, and in-person at their headquarters in the Majestic Theatre, they understand that it’s not always easy or convenient for artists to visit during business hours. As a new Dallas Cultural Plan initiative starting in April (Dallas Arts Month), OCA On The Go has OCA staff travel to different locations around Dallas on three separate dates to meet artists where they live, work, and convene. Artists are welcome to come and share their thoughts, ask questions, muse on the power of art, and help the OCA learn more at these free walk-in events!
