Join the Black Banjo Reclamation Project (BBRP) for a program celebrating the traditional folk musical practices of the banjo. BBRP is a group of musicians and performers dedicated to advancing African American and Black life through these musical traditions, using the banjo as a vehicle for cultural healing rooted in racial, social, economic, historical, spiritual, and community-based connection.
By placing the banjo at the center of their work, BBRP fosters an ancestral connection through playing, teaching, and creating the instrument, forging ties to a rich cultural heritage and the ways wisdom is passed down through song.
