Booking An Artist Through the Community Artist Program (CAP)
The Community Arts Program provides funding to culturally specific individual artists and cultural organizations to teach, perform, and exhibit at facilities all around the City of Dallas.
CAP is all about encouraging collaborations between artists and communities. You book the services and OAC pays their fee.
How to book a CAP Artist
- Requirements:
- Must be for facilities and groups within the city limits of Dallas.
- hosts may include faith-based organizations, community organizations, recreation centers, social service agencies, and other nonprofit groups. Emphasis will be placed on underserved or unserved communities that have not had prior exposure to the art form.
- Events or services must be free of charge.
- Events must be open to the public.
- Requests should be made in at least 5 weeks advance of the requested date.
- You can request no more than three services per event as long as the event is at least three hours in duration. (artists must be booked in increments of 50 minutes or more).
- Services are available in the form of performances, workshops, and residency programs. Some performances and workshops can be tailored to meet the specific needs of the host organization.
- Performances and workshops are based on a 50 minute minimum presentation with a maximum of three hours.
- Workshops are available in 2- to 5-day series.
- Must be for facilities and groups within the city limits of Dallas.
