Celebrating Dallas’ vibrant literary community

Part of Dallas Arts Month and Produced by the Office of Cultural Affairs

The City of Dallas Office of Cultural Affairs announces the Dallas Poetry Project, a series of poetry events that will occur throughout the entire month of April in celebration of Dallas Arts Month and National Poetry Month.

Launched by Mayor Mike Rawlings, Dallas Arts Month is a city-wide celebration designed to build awareness and appreciation for the work of Dallas artists and organizations, and to foster creative learning and activity throughout the city. “Poetry, spoken word and storytelling are some of the most underappreciated, yet most impactful art forms,” said Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings. “This April, as we shine a spotlight on the arts in Dallas, we also join the rest of the country in celebrating our local poets and their craft. I am proud and excited to have these six poetry events, and I encourage everyone to attend.”
