Artist Overview

Janice Hamilton is an award-winning artist and art instructor with an extensive experience in painting techniques.  Janice has exhibited her work in numerous art venues.  She is a highly respected art teacher who has taught several workshops in many cultural and educational facilities for many years.

Janice Hamilton has studied with many nationally know artists. She enjoys both oils and pastels.  She has a degree in education and has taught in the public schools, in the continuing education programs at both Richland and Brookhaven Colleges, private classes and is presently teaching art classed at  Highland Park United Methodist Church.


Artist Bio & Experience

Janice has been featured in one-women shows at the Goodrich Gallery and Grand Kempinsky in Dallas, the Jaycee Center for the Arts, Irving, Texas, Scott and White’s Smith Art Gallery, Temple, Texas,  Plano Municipal Building, the Plano Center  and the Courtyard Theater, Plano, Texas, Patty Granville Center for the Performing Arts, Garland, Texas, Vive Les Arts Theater, Killen, Texas,  Mesquite Performing Arts Center, Mesquite, Texas, the Framemaker Gallery, Austin, Texas and the Wolf Creek Heritage Museum, Lipscomb, Texas.

Her work has been included in the artists of Texas, Volume 1V, Fine Arts Catalog and she was featured as one of the “Master Pastel Artists of the World” in the 2003 June-July issue of the International Artists Magazine.  In 1994 one of her paintings was included in the Dallas Museum for the Art’s Beaus Art’s Auction. The BHCC included one of her paintings in their 2014 calendar.

Her oils have been included in the Oil Painters of America shows around the country and her pastel was included in the Pastel Society of America show in New York.

She has been asked to give programs and teach workshops for numerous art organizations.  Janice is past-president of the Pastel Society of the Southwest and the Associated Creative Artists of Dallas.  She is a signature member of ACA and Texas & Neighbors.  She also received the Irving Art Centers Award of Excellences in the 2009 Texas & Neighbors Regional Exhibit and one of her paintings was used on the cover of their 2011 prospectus

Janice was a judge for the Dallas Business Community for the Arts for several years.  She has judged Richardson Art Society’s Youth Show, the TAPPS show and other award shows in Dallas and the surrounding area Including Ellis County and Farmers Branch - Carrolton.
