: Visual Artist, Painter, Mixed Media, Curator, Juror
I am a visual artist who enjoys the process of painting and creating with mixed media. My artwork has been featured in local and regional exhibit venues - invitational and jurored, as well as several print publications. As one of the founding members of the Slant Artist Collective, I believe strongly in the positive impact that art has in creating community, and I greatly enjoy the process of sharing opportunities and collaborating with others. I am a resident artist at The Mix - an inspiring creative hub in east Dallas. On my creative path I have been most fortunate to have also gained experience as a curator, juror, exhibit planner and art installer. My technical experience includes graphic design, illustration, and communications marketing.
During this time of Pandemic, I am prepared to host in person creative workshops limited to 4 participants.
I am also available for assistance with preparing/planning, curating, or being juror for virtual exhibit opportunities.
Born and raised in small town Kansas, Jacque Forsher earned her BFA in 1983 from Pittsburg State University, in Pittsburg, Kansas. Since moving to Texas in ‘88, Forsher’s work continues to be greatly inspired by the diverse culture found in the DFW metroplex. After participating in several Iconography workshops, her fascination with sacred art was further influenced, and is often reflected in her current work, which is an exploration where her modern style and contemporary representation find an interesting harmony with the more formal symbolism and technique of traditional iconography. Forsher has participated as an artist and curator in both local and national juried and invitational exhibitions, some of which include—
• Sketchbook Exhibit Project, Museum of Contemporary Art—Washington, DC
• Frida Kahlo Exhibit, Picture This Gallery, Long Beach, CA
• What Dreams May Come, John H. Milde Gallery, Dallas, TX (curator)
