Flor y Canto Program

This series takes place as part of our gallery openings for each new exhibition and it is our attempt to present one jam-packed event of art, music, film and literature. The "Flor Y Canto" is a decades old tradition in Latin America initiated by villagers, farmers and others who constructed temporary spaces to celebrate fiestas and holidays. From the beginning they were the focus of community activity serving as social centers where people could gather, converse, sing, and experience "community". Arte Oak Cliff, in partnership with the Ice House Cultural Center, takes inspiration from this tradition and strives to integrate the arts into the daily life of our community. Look for special themes that include: Dia de los Ninos, Oak Cliff Fall Arts Festival, Tejano Jam, & Dia de los Muertos.
